Cvernovka Competition – Redevelopment of the Bratislava Thread Factory Site
The aim of the competition was the redevelopment of the partially used site of the former Bratislava Thread Factory (BCT) and the construction of a new mixed-use zone with residential and civic amenities, in accordance with the Urban Master Plan of Bratislava, as amended.
The competition brief required the development of a comprehensive urban-architectural concept for the site, including proposed architectural solutions for new buildings and basic functional layouts for the area. The organizers expected the outcome to be a new, attractive urban district that would complement the emerging Eastern City Center of Bratislava.
